Review Policy

Thank you for checking out my review policy! I really appreciate you taking the time to find out about my reading preferences.

Last Updated: February 2012

Review Requests: I am currently accepting review requests for books releasing in April, 2012 or later. I am more likely to accept a review request . . .

  • From publicists I have worked with before.
  • From authors I have worked with before.
  • If the book is on my TBR List.

I do not respond to each individual review request. I check my junk box daily to catch emails that have been delivered there by mistake. If I have not responded to your review request it is most likely because I am not interested in reading the book.

Genres I Read:

  • NYT Bestsellers
  • Christian Fiction
  • Christian Living
  • General Nonfiction
  • Memoir/Biography/Autobiography

Genres I do Not Read:

  • Paranormal/Fantasy/Sci-Fi
  • Romance/Erotica
  • Horror
  • Bonnet Fiction
  • Most General Market Fiction

Series: I do not read series out of sequence. If you ask me to review a book in a series, I will ask you to provide copies of any preceding books.

I do not review e-books. I do not review self-published books. I will not critique or edit your unpublished book.

Unsolicited books: I am very open to receiving unsolicited books that meet my review requirements. I don’t promise to read or review unsolicited books. All unsolicited books I receive will be introduced to readers on my weekly Mailbox Monday vlog. I am much more likely to read and review unsolicited books from the following publishers: Thomas Nelson, WaterBrook Multnomah, Tyndale House, Zondervan, Bethany House, David C. Cook, and B&H Publishing.

When I accept a book to review: I will read it and review it. I can’t promise a review date because I’m busy and life happens. I always make my best effort to comply with blog tour dates. Books releasing in the current month will take precedence over older books. Unsolicited books are last priority.

Exposure: Books I review will receive five points of exposure. They will be reviewed on my blog, featured on the weekly In My Mailbox video, and a link to the review will be posted on Twitter, Facebook, and Goodreads. If I conduct an author interview or host a giveaway for the book, the review will be linked to from those posts as well.

Promo Ads: Feel free to send me web ads (like the ones you see in my sidebars) for any books you are promoting. I don’t promise to display them, but I do like to rotate my ads on a regular basis to keep things interesting.
