In compliance with the FTC ruling that bloggers must disclose any compensation they are receiving for their posts, the following is my full disclosure statement, effective September 1, 2010:
This blog is written and edited by me, Kate Scott, a.k.a. the Parchment Girl. Its purpose is to celebrate a love of literature and inform readers about great (and not so great) books so they will be prepared for their next trip to the bookstore. It also serves as a place for me to spout off about any blogging, reading, or publishing-related topic that happens to come to mind.
In an effort to compensate myself for the 20+ hours a week I spend working on this blog, I accept cash advertising, participate in a number of affiliate programs, and regularly receive free books from publishers to review. Be forewarned: any link on this blog may be used to support this starving blogger!
That being said, I’m way too opinionated to be influenced by any form of compensation. I will ALWAYS give my honest opinion of each book I review, and I only affiliate with companies that I believe provide quality products for my readers.
I have reviewed books for the following publishers, imprints, publicity companies, and blog tour organizations: B&B Media Group, B&H Publishers, Baker Publishing Group (Bethany House, Brazos Press & Chosen Books), Christian Fiction Blog Alliance, Crossway Books, David C. Cook, HarperCollins, Moody Publishing, P&R Publishing, Penguin Group (The Penguin Press & Viking), Random House (Knopf & WaterBrook Multnomah), Thomas Nelson, Tyndale House, and Zondervan.
I affiliate with the following websites/companies: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, The Book Depository, Christian Book Distributors, IndieBound, and WestBow Press.
When I use third party images in posts, I give credit by linking the image to the page where I found it.
