I am very particular about bookmarks. Whenever I start a new book, I take great care in selecting the perfect bookmark (within my meager, mostly free collection). I like a bookmark that fits the size of my book and I love a bookmark that matches. Above all, I adore a bookmark that is a work of art unto itself. Here are 5 such bookmarks.

This one makes me laugh because it’s just so me. I am such a grumpy cat when someone interrupts me when I’m reading! You can also strategically hold this bookmark facing outward against the cover of your book while you read to send a not-so-subtle message. This one is by New York artist Christine of WonderFlies.
