Book Swag is a monthly feature where I recommend five bookish products (often on a theme) I love and think you will love too!
I love art, especially the bookish kind. If you’re looking for something to pep up your walls, look no further! These five portraits of famous artists are just the thing you need to add a pop of color and culture to your living space.
This creative portrait of H.P. Lovecraft is one of a series of portraits of authors and scientists by American artist Joanna Barnum. I particularly love the color scheme she employed with this one.
Perhaps the only thing better than Mary Wollstonecraft is Mary WollstoneCat. This cultured kitty was created by American artist Bethany Salisbury, who specializes in pet portraits.
American artist Diana Shafer has produced dozens of original portraits of famous authors and this is definitely one of my favorites. I am so in love with her unique style.
5. Walt Whitman
Bibliophile and artist Sally Busby of East Grove Studio creates beautiful linocut portraits of a number of classic authors. She also blogs about books and she’s my newest advertiser, so be sure to check out her work!
